National Honor Society core principles: Character, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service.
National Honor Society is open to all North Mesquite students in 10th - 12th grade who have a 3.5 GPA (Scholarship), who show courtesy and concern for others and maintain a clean disciplinary record (Character), who are resourceful, good problem solvers, and idea contributors (Leadership), and who give back to the school or community (Service).
At North Mesquite all members are required to have at least 18 hours of community service each semester of the school year.
NHS community projects include: Water/Gatorade drive for local Fire stations, and giving back at Santa Cop and the Mesquite 5k Color Run.
NHS school projects include: running a booth at the NMHS Fall Festival, sponsoring a coffee house for the faculty and staff at NMHS, and creating gift baskets for counselor and administrator appreciation week.
