North Mesquite High School, home of the Stallions, opened in 1969 as the second high school in Mesquite ISD. The campus serves students in grades 9 through 12 and hosts the Regional Day School Program for the Deaf.
Originally developed as part of a district-wide comprehensive plan, the school’s location was planned even before the construction of the LBJ Freeway. Named for its position in the northern part of the city, North Mesquite opened in two phases with Phase II completed in 1989 to meet the needs of the growing community.

HB3 requires school boards to adopt detailed plans developed by their management teams that achieve goals in two key areas:
School boards must review the progress of each plan at least annually at a public meeting. These goals will be posted on the district website for the district level goals and on each campus website for the campus level goals once approved. The Board of Trustees approved these goals at the May 9, 2022, meeting. To view a downloadable, printable document containing these goals, click on the following button.
