Stallion LogoIn the United States, the month of February is observed as Black History Month or National African American History Month. The month is used to remember the important contributions and achievements of African Americans throughout our nation's history. In 1976, when Black History Month was officially acknowledged by the U.S. government, President Gerald Ford made a brief statement, saying, “we can seize the opportunity to honor the too often neglected accomplishments of black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history."
